HISTORY
This area of Litchfield was settled in the late 1780s by William Potter. What is now known as Potters Brook was first named Potters Mill Stream at the time that it was settled. At various times throughout the next century Potters Mill Stream and Spring Brook were home to a sawmill, grist mill and even a fulling mill.
To this day, the stone remnants of a grist mill can still be seen along Potters Brook.
